Illustrated: Creative Processes And Strategies From The Replica To The Spontaneous

This article sets out important guidelines and educational initiatives, which are the product of constant academic research and practice in the work of illustrating. Creation processes require effective methodologies to develop proposals in different scenarios. The trajectory of the creative and visual universe reveals how different dynamics as well, as other inner workings involved in different processes, allow looking into diverse ideological and tactical fields, expanding the possibilities. After a broad overview of benchmarks from related areas such as art and design, and focusing the guidelines towards the purpose, some teaching methods were specified. These are synthesized in the main pillars to get started and find a unique path regarding learning and creating, which leads to the comprehensive goal of the task to illustrate reflexively, automatically and spontaneously. Delving in strategic mechanisms based on replicating, appropriation and decontextualization of images, and in the translation into the illustrative and imaginary language, which is revealed through unforeseen expressions along with multiple resources
