摘要
Introduction: Non-pharmacological control of hypertensive patients should be evaluated as it has been shown to be beneficial along with pharmacological treatment. It is not known how is self-perception of salt consumption in Peruvian hypertensive groups. Objective: To determine the perception of diet and salt consumption according to anthropometric measures in relation to arterial hypertension in Peruvian settlers. Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study using self-reported data on the perception of salt intake and low fat and high-fat diet (healthy diet). Frequencies and percentages are calculated; in addition, the bivariate analysis uses linear regression or correlation. It is considered a 95% CI.Results: Of the 4263 participants, 63% were women and the median age (P < .05), which was found to be significantly correlated with systolic blood pressure (P < .05). The healthy diet had a positive correlation with the variables anthropometric. BMI (p < 0.01) but not with waist circumference (p < 0.01).Conclusion: More than half perceived regular or high salt intake in their diet but the prevalence of hypertension was low. The perception of low salt intake was frequent in the hypertensive group.
