Age-dependence of stand biomass in managed boreal forests based on the Finnish National Forest Inventory data

•Models for biomass and age relationship for different growth conditions were developed.•Models for organic and mineral soils across site types and biogeographical zones were presented.•The models present long-term averages of realized management in Finland.•The results highlight a trade-off between carbon sequestration and storage.
