Aminomethylation Of Imidazopyridines With Dichloromethane: A General Strategy To Construct 3-Aminomethlylated Imidazoheterocycles

A new efficient one pot, three component synthesis of C3 aminomethylated imidazopyridines has been developed under catalyst-, oxidant-free and mild conditions. The protocol employs commercially available dichloromethane and various amines as aminomethylation reagents, green ethanol as the solvent and shows wide substrate scope, providing the corresponding C3-position aminomethylation products in good yields.
