摘要
Ultimately, the question of whether lay decision-makers appropriately comprehend statistical statements from forensic scientists is an important one, but its answer remains elusive. Irrespective of legal interest in empirically established understanding, cognitive and forensic scientists interested in just trial outcomes can and should continue collaborating to optimize the communication of uncertainty in the high-stakes forensic decision-making environment. The evidence gathered is valuable for fueling discussion and debate surrounding justice reforms and is necessary for improved communication between practitioners and decision makers. Knowledge means little if it can’t be shared (Howes, 2015).
