Lesional resective epilepsy surgery in childhood: Comparison of two decades and long-term seizure outcome from a single center

•Pediatric resective epilepsy surgery proved efficacy yielding 65.8% seizure freedom.•Temporal surgery had the best, hemispheric surgery had the least favorable outcome.•Among etiologies, tumors had the best long term outcome (83.1%, Engel class 1).•The number of preoperative medications was an independent predictor of outcome.•Absence of postoperative epileptiform EEG was an independent predictor of outcome.
