An Introduction to the Mechanisms of Cell-Cycle Regulation and Apoptosis
Epstein's Inborn Errors of Development(2016)
Abstract
The cell cycle is controlled by numerous mechanisms ensuring correct cell division, that is, regulation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) by cyclins, CDK inhibitors (CKIs) and phosphorylating events. The quality checkpoints activated after DNA damage are also discussed. The complexity of the regulation of the cell cycle is also re8ected in the different alterations leading to aberrant cell proliferation and development of cancer.
