Shock Tube/laser Absorption Measurements of the Pyrolysis of Butyl Acetate Isomers

Isomer specific pyrolysis experiments have been carried out for butyl acetate compound in a shock tube using laser absorption technique. Four isomers are investigated: n-butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate, tert-butyl acetate and sec-butyl acetate. During their pyrolysis, carbon monoxide (CO) time-histories are obtained behind reflected shockwaves over the temperature range of 1296–1756 K and pressures of 1.2–1.5 atm with 0.5% fuel in argon bath.
