Microwave Inverse Scattering Imaging system: Calibration of Theoretical and Measured Scattered Field Values

In this article, the microwave inverse scattering imaging system as applied in the medical imaging is studied. Two methods are used to obtain the scattered field data, i.e., the method of MoMents (MoM) is used to solve the theoretical value of the scene, and the finite different time-domain (FDTD) method is used to simulate the whole imaging system, which can be seen as a semi-real measurement data. After calibration, the amplitude and phase of the data obtained by the two methods are in good agreement, which indicates the accuracy of the proposed system. Finally, reconstruction results using both data has shown the effectiveness of the imaging measurement system.
