PET/CT: Radiation Therapy Planning in Head and Neck Cancer

center dot Modern radiotherapy offers highly conformal treatment that requires accurate delineation of primary and nodal targets to achieve optimal cancer control with reduced toxicity. center dot FDG-PET/CT has an integral role in guiding target delineation in radiotherapy planning for most head and neck cancers. center dot Efforts are underway investigating the use of pre- and mid-treatment PET/CT to guide radiation dose and volume escalation/de-escalation approaches.
