Comparison of two methods of antifungal susceptibility test of voriconazole

Objective:To study the differences of vitro antibacterial activity of Voriconazole between two methods(MIC and KB) for antifungal susceptibility test.Methods:ATB FUNGUS 3 kit and Rosco paper disc diffusion were applied in detecting the susceptibility of 84 strains of Candida to Voriconazole and the results were compared.Results:The sensitive rates of 84 strains of Candida to Voriconazole were 56%(MIC) and 65.5%(KB),demonstrating statistically significance(χ2=37.4,P0.01).Conclusion:The accuracy of MIC method is higher than KB method.So that we recommend MIC method for clinical laboratories to avoid the great important error.
