Chapter Four - Beyond spatial or temporal prefetching.

Data prefetchers rely on some forms of correlations or repetitive patterns in the data access streams of applications to predict future memory references. However, not all data prefetchers use either spatial correlations or temporal correlations. To introduce the readers to such prefetchers, in this chapter, we present STeMS and BOP. One prefetcher uses both spatial and temporal correlations to benefit from both worlds. The other one uses the concept of offset prefetching to predict future memory accesses.
