摘要
•The transport of patients on mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices has historically been viewed as cost prohibitive and high risk.•However, outcomes data from the University of Utah demonstrate that interfacility transport of adult patients on MCS is feasible, with outcomes equal to or better than published international outcomes.•All transports were completed using specially trained nurses for the management of MCS devices en route.•This transport team structure is more cost-effective than using physicians or perfusionists for MCS device management en route.
