Investigation of Dientamoeba fragilis and Blastocystis in patients from Turkey with ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome: Any relation with genotypes?

•Dientamoeba fragilis genotype 1 is the only genotype found in this study which is also predominant worldwide.•No relation was detected between irritable bowel syndrome and activation of ulcerative colitis between genotypes of Dientamoeba fragilis and Blastocystis.
