The value of wearable cardioverter defibrillator in adult patients with recent myocardial infarction: Economic and clinical implications from a health technology assessment perspective

•The risk of SCD is significantly increased in patients with reduced EF after MI•A comparison of WCD with the current standard in post MI patient was performed developing a decision analytical Markov model•-Higher efficacy of WCD, expressed as life years and quality adjusted life years, with an acceptable increase in costs•WCD utilization in post-MI patients is clinically beneficial and cost-effective•WCD can contribute to a more efficient use of resources in the Italian HS, and potentially other HSs
