Multiscale investigation of magnetic field distortion on surface of ferromagnetic materials caused by stress concentration for metal magnetic memory method

•Stress-magnetic coupling mechanism has been demonstrated at the atomic level clearly by discovering the impact of stress on electronic structures including spin distribution and orbital occupancy.•A new multiscale strategy to bridge the gaps between the different scale methods was proposed and microscopic mechanism behind the real-life magnetic phenomena was investigated.
