•DAG oil intake reduces body weight and body mass index in healthy people.•Intake of DAG oil has a specific effect on reducing WC and serum TC.•The duration of eating DAG oil is significantly related to the effect of weight loss.•The longer the intake of DAG oil, the better the weight loss effect.
