Unusual presentation of a rare retroperitoneal solitary fibrous tumor

Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare mesenchymal derived tumor, that can present anywhere in the body, although it mainly arises in the pleura. Retro-peritoneal location is unusual site with an exceedingly small number of cases reported in the literature. This has made studying the clinical course, management, follow-up and prognosis of these tumors challenging.
