•Laser pulse effect on a nonlocal double poro-magneto-thermoelastic material is analyzed.•Temperature-dependent material properties are incorporated in the considered substrate.•Higher order fractional and memory-dependent models with dual-phase-lags are employed.•Laplace transform method and Zakian’s algorithm are used to acquire the field variables.•Effects of various key parameters are observed
