Influence of Temperature on the Partial Discharge Inception Characteristics of Typical Insulation-shaping Components in Transformer

In this paper, the effect of temperature on the partial discharge inception characteristics of typical insulation-shaping components is demonstrated. The partial discharge test platform was established to test the typical insulation-shaping components of three manufacturers. The products of each manufacturer were tested for the partial discharge inception voltage and magnitude at five temperatures of 20°C 35°C, 50°C, 65°C and 80°C, and their distribution figures were drawn. Based on the test results, the partial discharge inception characteristics of the insulation-shaping components of the three manufacturers were compared, and the dispersion of the product data was analyzed. According to the analysis result, it can be concluded that the partial discharge inception voltage of typical insulation-shaping components decreases with the increase of temperature, and the discharge magnitude rise with the increase of temperature, and the performance of various insulation-shaping components of each manufacturer is different.
