摘要
The lysosomal integral membrane protein type-2 (LIMP-2), also known as SCARB2, is one of the members of class B scavenger receptor proteins. Accumulated evidence suggests that LIMP-2 plays an important role in regulating cellular immunity and lysosomal homeostasis, and that defects in LIMP-2 function can induce various disorders, including cardiomyopathy, muscle atrophy, and epilepsy. Most recently, LIMP-2 was confirmed to be involved in lysosomal cholesterol transport by employing a large hydrophobic cavity.
