Purification of menthone and menthol from Mentha haplocalyx by suspension particle assisted solvent sublation, neuroprotective effect in vitro and molecular docking of menthol on amyloid-β

•Suspension particle assisted solvent sublation was designed for the first time.•Menthone & menthol were resolved by suspension particle assisted solvent sublation.•Compared with ASS, SD and LLE, SSS was efficient.•Cellular antioxidant test & molecular docking of menthol on amyloid-β were studied.•The menthol might be used as a good source of natural neuroprotectant.
