Mindset, stereotype threat and the academic achievement gap between Chinese and Latinx English Learners (ELs)

摘要
•Student growth mindset was significantly associated with higher school performance.•Student stereotype threat was significantly associated with lower school performance.•Teacher growth mindset was significantly associated with school performance, but differentially by ethnicity and grade.•Differences in teacher perceptions between Chinese and Latinx ELs accounts for differences in student achievement.•Practical and research implications and suggestions to educators were provided.
