Abstract
•MgO anchored N-doped carbon (MgO@NC) is obtained by a COF-adsorption-pyrolysis strategy.•A very high adsorption capacity for U(VI) is 947.91 mg/g.•The U(VI) adsorption is of high selectivity and can be regenerated easily.•Removal mechanism includes ions exchange and surface complexation.
