Engaging citizens in policy making: The potential and challenges of e-participation

This introductory chapter provides an overall context for the book by focusing on three issues. First, it provides a very concise overview of the significance of e-participation. Second, in order to situate the current book among ongoing debates, this chapter identifies some of the key gaps in our current knowledge on e-participation, concluding with an explanation of the main focus of the book.
