摘要
To designate the interactions of light with nanostructured metals, the research community has created the new term “plasmonics.” The field of plasmonics has blossomed over the last few years. To make out the gap between conventional optics and highly integrated nanophotonics, plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) had most severely studied. The significance of the plasmonic NPs over other NPs in diverse applications like catalysis, electronics, magnetic, optical, optoelectronic, materials for solar cell, medical, bioimaging, and the diagnosis was established because of their characteristics such as surface-enhanced plasmonic behavior. The optical properties of gold and silver NPs, mainly localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) play a significant role in the development of these diverse fields. The versatility of the plasmonic NPs led us to review their most salient physicochemical properties and potential applications. Here we are presenting a general idea about the LSPR-based applications of gold and silver NPs.
