The instability of recombinant basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) is a major disadvantage for its therapeutic use. In article number 2000176, Nathaniel S. Hwang, Tai Hyun Park, and co-workers fuse bFGF with 30Kc19α protein to enhance the stability and tissue penetration of bFGF. When applied to the wound site, 30Kc19α-bFGF fusion protein (blue-purple) facilitates wound regeneration by acting on fibroblasts and endothelial cells in the dermal layer
