Investigation of Shear-Compression Rheological Characteristics and Thermoforming Properties of Gh4169 Superalloy

The rheological behavior and thermoforming properties of GH4169 superalloy under the shear-compression deformation (SCD) conditions were studied by simulation techniques at 1000~1200 °C, 0.01~1 s -1 . Compared with the single compression test, the stress and strain of SCD were concentrated in the unique slot region of shear-compression specimens (SCS), and the flow curves showed more significant fluctuation characteristics. The Arrhenius constitutive equation and stress prediction equation were constructed, and the thermal activation energy of SCD was determined to be 556.47 KJ/mol. Notably, severe instability cracking occurred at 1200 °C, caused by the dislocation concentration near the second phase. The ideal deformed microstructure appeared at 1100 °C-0.01 s -1 , a valley area of power dissipation efficiency. Nevertheless, the optimal window of SCD for GH4169 was determined at 1135~1150 °C and 0.1~0.32 s -1 considering the strain rate demand in actual production.
