Thomson Scattering of a Vector Laguerre-Gaussian Beam by a Non-Relativistic Electron

In order to explore the scattering effect of vortex beams in plasma, the Thomson scattering of a vector Laguerre-Gaussian beam by a non-relativistic electron is studied in this paper. By expressing a Laguerre-Gaussian beam as the superposition of a series of plane waves, the expression of scattered electric field is derived according to Thomson scattering theory. The scattering power in unit solid angle of each point on the receiving plane is simulated numerically. The influence of the radial mode numbers of Laguerre-Gaussian beams and velocity of the electron are analyzed. The work provides an important theoretical basis for further exploring the scattering characteristics of vortex beams in complex plasma environment.
