Secular trends in incidence and seasonal variation of distal radius fracture among children: A nationwide study based on the Swedish National Patient Register 2002–2016

•The incidence of distal radius fractures in children showed a seasonal variation.•The incidence in Swedish children was higher in summer and lower in winter.•Annual changes showed a downward trend from 2002 to the early 2010s.•Only in the winter season did it decline significantly from 2002 to 2016.
