•Air pollution exposure is associated with brain structural morphology.•Differential susceptibility to air pollution may be influenced by genetic features.•We investigated APOE status and Alzheimer polygenic risk score.•The genetic factors seem to modify the association toward typical brain development.•Results highlight the possibility of an antagonistic pleiotropic effect.
