Synthesis, spectroscopy, and crystallography of magnesium, aluminum, and zinc complexes supported by a tridentate ketoiminate

Magnesium, aluminum, and zinc complexes were prepared with a tridentate ketoiminate with a pendant quinolyl donor and a cyclopentanyl moiety. The bis-ligated homoleptic complexes were characterized crystallographically and shown to have distorted octahedral configurations. Aluminum and zinc ketoiminate phenoxide complexes were in five-coordinate configurations in mononuclear and dimeric structures, respectively.
