•Different omics approaches on bacterial wilt resistance in solanaceous vegetable crops are compiled and compared.•Information on molecular markers and QTLs identified in all the crops is gathered and compared.•Gene expression studies, transcriptome, proteome and metabolome studies are compiled.•Sequences from major QTL from tomato and peppers were compared to predict the common genes and pathways they participate in.
