•All three alloys showed hysteresis loops, suggesting localized corrosion.•The ODS9Cr steels exhibited an improved corrosion resistance compared to NODS.•Higher EBP and Rct; lower Ipass were observed for ODS9Cr-ZrO2 alloy.•The finer structure and passive layer make ODS9Cr steels more corrosion resistant.•However, ODS9Cr steel has slightly better corrosion resistance.
