Sonic log data combined with interpreted geological horizons are key inputs to generating such velocity models. A joint inversion framework, combining surface seismic and constraints from borehole sonic log data and interpreted geological horizons, has been developed to produce accurate and geologically consistent velocity models not only for improved subsalt imaging and gather flattening, but also to enable successful low-frequency AFWI. Application of EFWI, using the initial AFWI velocity model, in turn produces more accurate impedance and Vp/Vs values for rock type prediction in presalt Brazil. Keywords: tomography, presalt, sonic log, velocity model buildingPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3751132.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byVelocity model building and imaging driven by FWI with dual-azimuth data in a complex salt environment: Brazil case studyXu Li, Christine Gans, Young Ho Cha, Diwi Snyder, Gopal Palacharla, Vijay Gottumukkula, Yaofeng He, Hongchuan Sun, Tetyana Vdovina, Xueyi Jia, Valeriy Brytik, and Inmaculada Dura-Gomez15 August 2022 Second International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & EnergyISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2022 Pages: 3694 publication data© 2022 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the American Association of Petroleum GeologistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 15 Aug 2022 CITATION INFORMATION Yaofeng He, Xu Li, Young Ho Cha, Partha Routh, Inma Dura-Gomez, and Carey Marcinkovich, (2022), "Constrained tomography for improved presalt elastic full-waveform inversion," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 3364-3368. https://doi.org/10.1190/image2022-3751132.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordstomographypresaltsonic logvelocity model buildingPDF DownloadLoading ...
