•Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) molecule and its receptors play an important role in malignancies and metastases.•Prostaglandin E2 form complexes with randomly-methylated-beta-cyclodextrin (RAMEB) with high affinity.•RAMEB can be labeled with diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes and binds to PGE2-positive tumors.•Radiolabeled RAMEB may play a role in the diagnosis and radionuclide therapy of PGE2-positive tumors.
