5.2-6.2 GHz Dual-pol Hat-fed Reflector Antenna

A dual linear polarization feed for a compact self-supported center-fed reflector antenna for the C-band frequency range of 5.2–6.2 GHz is presented. The main goal of the feed is to maximize the antenna efficiency and to minimize the sidelobe levels and cross couplings that are usually associated with a small F/D ratio of a reflector. The primary and secondary radiation patterns of the designed feed are presented, as well as antenna gain (efficiency) and scattering parameters of the reflector antenna.
