A rapid review to determine the suicide risk and risk factors of men who are survivors of sexual assault

•We identified one systematic review and 16 papers featuring primary studies relating to suicidal thoughts, behviours, deaths and risk factors for men who had been sexually assaulted in childhood or as an adult.•We found few papers that explored factors contributing to suicide risk among male survivors.•This review shows that men who have been sexually assaulted are at increased risk of suicidal thoughts, behaviours and death.
