Behavior of artificially corroded RC beams strengthened with CFRP and hybrid CFRP-GFRP laminates

摘要
•The impressed current induces non-uniform corrosion based on the spatial location of the rebar. The reinforcement bar facing the cathode suffered a higher corrosion degree than the bar away from the cathode.•Single CFRP laminate regained the strength of a corroded RC beam with 35 to 37% steel weight loss up to the level of sound control beams.•Hybrid CFRP-GFRP laminates showed 42% and 62% higher yield and ultimate load, respectively, compared to the counterpart beams with 37% steel weight loss.•The CFRP and hybrid CFRP-GFRP laminates are efficient strengthening for the severally corroded RC beams.
