•Identification of modulation format of Phase-shift keying signals.•Supervised machine learning method using K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm.•Using incoming signals' constellations to identify the signal type.•Four PSK signals (BPSK, QPSK, 8-PSK and 16-PSK) been detected and identified with high accuracy.
