Enantioselective biosynthesis of (R)-γ-hydroxy sulfides via a one-pot approach with ChKRED20

•The reaction is a one-pot synthesis method, only one biocatalyst ChKRED20 was required.•The reaction is carried out under the condition of aqueous phase, the conditions are mild and green.•All tested substrates exhibited excellent enantioselectivity, with most products in acceptable yields.•Preliminary explanation of reaction mechanism by molecular docking, including enantioselective inversion of substrates.
