Design of a Seven-Band Antenna Based on the Ring-Shaped and Composite Fractal Slots

In this paper, we present a design of seven-band coupling-fed ring-slotted antenna, which consists of a ring-slotted patch and a defective-structured ground plane with two symmetric B-shaped slots etched on it. This work covers an area of 37.26×28.18 mm^2, which generates seven frequency points at 3.6,3.88,5.38,6.25,7.69,9.78 and 10.36GHz, covering the frequency bands of WLAN and WIMAX standard. Besides, several principles for the design of coupling-fed symmetric antennas are also given in this paper.
