Percutaneous microwave ablation of disappearing colorectal liver metastases using US-MR fusion imaging guidance with integration of pre-chemotherapy imaging: A case report

Liver metastases that disappear after chemotherapy are called vanishing or disappearing liver metastases. These metastases represent a diagnostic and clinical challenge as their biological behaviour is hardly predictable and their treatment is not completely standardized. In this case report, we present an interesting solution to treat disappearing liver metastases using percutaneous microwave ablation and US/MRI fusion guidance employing pre-chemotherapy MRI as reference imaging.
