The effect of the cathode material nature on electroextraction of lanthanum in molten NaCl-2CsCl eutectic

•Electrochemical processes of lanthanum extraction on liquid Pb, Pb-Ga, Ga metals in molten NaCl-2CsCl eutectic have been studied.•The influence of the nature of the liquid cathode material on kinetic and thermodynamic characteristics of the alloys has been determined.•The conditions for the production of intermetallic compounds La-Ga and La-Pb were determined via potentiostatic electrolysis.
