摘要

•Thirty types of VAWT struts with different chord lengths, thickness, areas, and profiles are parametrically modeled and investigated using 3D CFD method.•A novel olivary profile specifically for VAWT strut is proposed.•The strut chordwise connecting positions and strut-blade connecting fairings of VAWT are studied for the first time.
