Influence of Transmitting Directivity on Underwater Acoustic Communication System

The directivity of the transmitting transducer will affect the performance of the underwater acoustic communication system. In order to study the relationship between them, the finite element method is used to establish the model of the broadband longitudinal vibration communication transducer, and the transmitting directivity of the transducer at different frequencies is analyzed. Then, the single-carrier underwater acoustic communication technology is studied and the underwater acoustic communication system is built. Finally, the communication experiment is carried out by using horizontal unidirectional cylindrical transducer and directional longitudinal vibration transducer in a water tank. The experimental results show that compared with the horizontal unidirectional cylindrical transducer, the directional longitudinal vibration transducer can reduce the influence of multipath effect and the bit error rate (BER), which can improve the communication performance of the underwater communication system.
