Stability of linear infinite-dimensional port-Hamiltonian systems via closure relations

Sufficient conditions for exponential stability of linear infinite-dimensional port-Hamiltonian systems with dissipation are developed. These conditions are formulated in terms of the stability of an extended port-Hamiltonian system without dissipation. We investigate this question in a more general operator theoretical setting.
