•Pulmonary involvement of COVID-19 can affect the choroid which most vascularized region of the body and retinal nerve fiber layer even in the acute period.•COVID-19 can be considered among the causes of ischemic etiology in retina and neuro ophthalmology clinics.•Especially, COVID-19 patients with pulmonary involvement may be followed up in ophthalmology in the chronic period.•Choroid and RNFL values in the acute phase may be prognostic for COVID-19.
