LPV observer for leakage detection of the pipeline system

This work presents a Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) observer for the leak diagnosis problem in a water pipeline system. First, the LPV representation of the system is derived from the nonlinear model of a pipeline. Then LPV observer is designed via solving Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). To assess the performance of the proposed approach, the proposed observer is applied to detect the leak of a real pipeline system. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
