Solution-mediated phase transition of pharmaceutical compounds: Case studies of acetaminophen and aspirin

•Solution-mediated phase transitions of acetaminophen and aspirin are shown as model cases.•Crystal phase transition was identified by optical microscope observation and Raman spectroscopy measurement.•Phase transition is often initiated from inclusions inside a metastable phase crystal; thus, reducing such inclusions realizes better stability of the metastable phase.
